Nigerian superstar Wizkid has revealed that he is not getting paid for his show in Uganda.
He made the revelation while explaining why he was a no-show last year. The singer noted that he could not turn up for his concert in Kampala last year because of circumstances beyond his control and is now trying to make it up to his fans.
“I am not being paid for this show. I am doing it because I love my fans in Uganda.” He said.
Meanwhile, the singer has expressed excitement about the show and promised a massive performance. “I will give a two-hour performance to make sure we all enjoy ourselves to the maximum,” he added.
Wizkid will thrill fans in Kampala in a show dubbed “Thursday Night With Wizkid”.
Wizkid is also pumped up about his Uganda concert. This was evident as he addressed the media at press briefing held at Kampala Serena Hotel on Wednesday.
Speaking at the press conference, the “Come Closer” star could not hide his excitement as he expressed gratitude at the immense love he was shown on arrival at the airport after he was welcomed by a mob. He went on to note that his Kampala concert will be one of his biggest shows in Africa.
“This is probably going to be one of my biggest shows in Africa from the energy at the airport when I landed. You showed me a lot of love and I really appreciate.” He said
Rising singer Fik Fameica has made an impression on Nigerian superstar Wizkid.
This was during the “Thursday Night With Wizkid” show press conference on Wednesday where the “Come Closer” star offered to do a collabo with the Ugandan sensational singer. This was after Fameica sampled his single, “Byenyenya” as he gave his remarks at the presser.
Wizkid was taken aback by Fameica’s talent so much so that he interjected him to ask if they could do a song together. “Can we hit studio together before I go back to Nigeria?” He posed, leaving Fameica dumbfounded.
Meanwhile, Fik Fameica will be one of the local acts performing alongside Wizkid at the his much anticipated “Thursday Night With Wizkid” concert slated for this Thursday, December 7. Other local singers lined up to entertain revelers at the show include Exodus, Maurice Kirya, Sheebah, Vampino, B2C, Da Agent, Beenie Gunter, Winnie Nwagi and Nina Roz among others
